Autism Awareness Week at Lea Forest

Last week Lea Forest held a series of events designed to promote awareness of Autism. Children took part in assemblies, competitions, role plays and our Onesie Wednesday to raise money for the Autism Society.

Lea Forest is a Green Tree School

After a mammoth tree planting session last term that saw over 300 saplings planted Lea Forest has been awarded the Bronze Award from the Woodland Trust in recognition of our academy's ongoing work to protect and sustain our woodland environments around our extensive grounds.  Mr Haw and the staff would like to pass on our thanks to every member of our community that helped to plant trees. Watch out for our next tree planting activities coming soon.

Results from Pilot Partnership Sports Events

A fantastic performance from our children at the recent Pilot Partnership Athletics Events saw Lea Forest's teams finish well with Yr3 and Yr4 team finishing third overall and our Yr5 and Yr6 team finishing 5th. 

Overall we finished in 4th place for the athletics and added 5pts to our league table total which moves us up to third place. Great work.

The final competition is Kwik Cricket on Thursday. Good luck to all our players.

Results from the recent Pilot Sports Competition:

Swimming: 
Lea Forest finished 4th with 16pts only 2pts behind third place finishers Our Lady's Catholic Primary School. A great start for our new team.

Rounders:
Both our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams took part in the rounders competition with both teams showing great team spirit and sportsmanship, both teams finished in 6th place.

Overall:
Our team's fantastic efforts have put us in to 4th place overall 3pts behind Coleborne With more competitions to come in the next few weeks.

Fantastic Fundraising from Lea Forest

We have raised an amazing total of £1957.00 for Comic Relief nearly doubling our £1,000.00 target!

Thanks to everyone for your fantastic support. Our School Councillor have worked hard to create a range of fundraising activities and events last term to raise this fantastic total.

Lea Forest beagn their league campaign with two crushing victories over Alston (5-2) and Blakesley Hall (4-0) on Tuesday evening. The Foresters leap into second place, three points behind leaders, The Oval. 

Cake Bake Raises £651.00 for Macmillan Nurses

Yr4's Fundraise for Oxfam and Cancer Research

Our amazing Yr4's have planned, organised and run a summer fete in there classrooms today and raised an amazing £216.81p for charity! The children made cakes, created games and ran bring and buy stalls, throughout the day. Miss Warwick and Miss Jones would like to pass on their thanks to all of our children for helping to raise the money today.
