Work Experience

Following the success of last year's pilot we have decided to run the Year 6 work experience program again this year. The programme gives pupils the opportunity to shadow a member of staff for up to a week and learn how the school is run on a day to day basis.

Pupils are expected to fill in formal application forms and attend an interview with a panel made up of various staff members. Once this process is completed the pupils are then allocated a job role to carry out and learn more about throughout the week.

Jobs roles range from clerical duties, school cooks, lunchtime supervisors, learning mentors, teachers, teaching assistants, the caretaker, in fact the majority of roles within the school are open to the pupils.

The scheme allows the children in Year 6 to develop independence, responsibility, maturity and see how school life feels from the other side!
